AIMNN, 20/05 – Association of Indonesian Micronations (AIM) Symbols Guidelines has passed General Assembly votes to be made official today (20/05). The proposed guidelines received unanimous support from member states. The guidelines will regulate AIM symbols and its usage by the organisation and member states.

The guidelines recognises five symbols as official. Those symbols are the flag, emblem, anthem, slogan, and official cities. The guidelines provides description on symbol’s history, meaning, and usage regulations.

Organisation slogan “Bhinneka Tunggal Ika” (English: Unity in Diversity) was recognised for the first time as official, despite it was already in use since AIM founding in 2011, even depicted in AIM logo from 2011 until 2014.

AIM also recognises official cities, with Tian Generations Place as honorary capital, and capital of state chairman is set to be administrative centre. Recognition of Tian Generations Place as honorary capital is one AIM effort to pay homage to Tian Abdurrahman (1994-2019), as it was the first capital city of Bobodolands Federation (2011-2012), his first micronation.

AIM member states are expected to adhere to the symbol guidelines when using AIM symbols in the future.

Harjakarta Called for Drafting Committee

Beforehand, a drafting committee was formed and successfully working on the guidelines draft in a period between 7 May until 13 May 2020. Members of the drafting committee were Joel Wijaya of Halenesia, Aaron Penyami and Arda Mudarso of Neuborrnia-Merientalia, and Muhammad Iqbal from Falalia.

The drafting committee was proposed by Chairman Harjakarta as an effort to increase new member states participation in AIM lawmaking and resolution-drafting process.

In general, composition of AIM laws were performed inside the General Assembly. The final draft was later perfected by the Correspondence Department by member states consent before ratification.
